Often times, these materials contain chemicals that can be dangerous to your health and can even cause some serious short-term and long-term adverse effects like skin irritation, burning, and in some cases, cancer. What’s worse is that even if a company claims that their product is all natural, it does not always mean that it is.

The best thing you can do when it comes to buying sex toys is to always check the material list. Generally, these materials are listed on the back and must include what it is composed of. If it states something like “plastic composite” that means it could be a mixture of different materials, Penis Rings which can be dangerous. You should also do your research and look into what chemicals are used in the production of the sex toy.

Products marketed as “phthalate-free,” “phthalates-free, or “phthalate-free polymers” (TPEs) may not necessarily be safe. Phthalates is a group of chemicals used to make plastics pliable. This means that, even if the product states that it is phthalate-free, those substances may still be present.

It’s also important to note that some materials have been deemed dangerous and should not be used. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) contains a number of known toxic chemicals, and should not be used in any situation.

With all that being said, it’s also important to remember that not all materials are toxic. Some materials like silicone and metal are both body-safe and non-toxic. So, if you’re ever looking for a sex toy, make sure to factor in the type of material it is made from and read up on what chemicals, if any, the product is made of.
